Oh, teh stoopid! It hurts! (The RNC brings their own peculiar brand of lunacy to the health care debate)

It has been suggested that the government could use voter registration to determine a person's political affiliation, prompting fears that GOP voters might be discriminated against for medical treatment in a Democrat-imposed health care rationing system. Does this possibility concern you?

This is from a survey they're running. I think every single word of that question qualifies as either completely bat-shit insane or ... no, I don't need the "or" after all...

Twenty-six lies about US House health care proposal

Twenty-six Lies About H.R. 3200

A notorious analysis of the House health care bill contains 48 claims. Twenty-six of them are false and the rest mostly misleading. Only four are true.

But hey, 4 of 48 claims being true, that's not bad... /snark

Seriously, if you don't already know why so many people are saying that the GOP is lying through their teeth, read this article.

Hat tip: @JoeLitton

God, I'm sick of conservative lies about healthcare reform

The government will tell the doctors (who, of course, are all in our extremely liberal - not - government's pockets, especially the ultra-conservative AMA /snark) to kill all of the old people?  Lie.

The proposal provides free healthcare to illegal immigrants?  Lie.

The proposal will pay for abortions?  Lie.

The government will invent a healthcare crisis and force everyone to get a swine flu vaccine, which might be OK except that the vaccine will kill you and cause everyone around you to spontaneously burst into flames the first time they enter a Christian church?  OK, I made up some of that.  But the rest of it?  Yeah, another lie.

What's amazing about this?  The sheeple, most especially the FOX News watchers, actually believe this complete and utter bullshit.  So, aside from proving that there are a LOT of astonishingly stupid people in the world, what's my point? It's not just that people are unbelievably dumb, especially the ones who watch Faux News.  And I shouldn't be surprised by this, but apparently I was caught by surprise when the right wing nutjobs all collectively decided to lower the American public's IQ by about 40 points in an effort to make sure they win a few minor political points.  Assholes.

So, here's a little tip for the clue-challenged (none of whom are reading this, of course, more's the pity): Cui bono?  Who benefits?  Who benefits from keeping our insanely out of control healthcare system running the way it runs today?  Two parties: the insurance companies and big pharma, who make billions off this bastardized system; and the GOP, who are absolutely horrified that the Democrats could succeed in making everyone's lives better, because then the GOP'd have a harder time winning future elections.  If you believe the conservative mouthpieces have any other motivation at all?  Give yourself an IQ test, but be prepared for a failing grade...

Something can be legal and still be moronic - assault rifles brought to protests are both

PHOENIX, Arizona (CNN) -- A man toting an assault rifle was among a dozen protesters carrying weapons while demonstrating outside President Obama's speech to veterans on Monday, but no laws were broken. It was the second instance in recent days in which weapons have been seen near presidential events.

Heck, all guns brought to protests qualify. What would be the point? To intimidate your opposition? Grow up and stop playing schoolyard bully.

And bringing them with you while you protest the President? Really fuckin' smart, genius. Congrats on your interview with the Secret Service, they just love people who go heavily armed in the vicinity of the first black President.

Legal? You bet. Idiotic? Damn straight.

CNN's Quick Vote proves 35% of Americans are Idiots

Do you believe "death panels" are part of the proposed health care reforms?
Yes                   23% 61167
No 65% 173064
Don't know 12% 32547
Total Votes: 266778

Seriously, people. Fucking death panels? God, some people are so dumb they shouldn't ever be asked their opinion. And you jackasses who "don't know?" Fuck off. It's not fuckin' rocket science, you twits. You CAN read, right? The whole damn bill is online. Lazy, ignorant fucks.

But no, I'm really enjoying the way the conservatives have turned this health care debate into a farce. Well done, really, GOP.

Oh, and those of you into numerical analysis may be interested to know: 35% of the American people ALSO approved of everything President George W Bush did in his 8 year rampage of destruction through the US Constitution and American values. Coincidence? Not a chance.

Mark Cuban: Most Patriotic Thing You Can Do - Get Rich and Pay Your Taxes

So be Patriotic. Go out there and get rich. Get so obnoxiously rich that when that tax bill comes , your first thought will be to choke on how big a check you have to write. Your 2nd thought will be “what a great problem to have”, and your 3rd should be a recognition that in paying your taxes you are helping to support millions of Americans that are not as fortunate as you.

In these times of “The Great Recession” we shouldn’t be trying to shift the benefits of wealth behind some curtain. We should be celebrating and encouraging people to make as much money as they can. Profits equal tax money. While some people might find it distasteful to pay taxes. I don’t. I find it Patriotic.

A-fucking-men.

Bwa-ha-ha! Woot : What Are We Doing While Twitter Is Down?

What Are We Doing While Twitter Is Down?

  • Worrying how everyone will know Twitter is down if we can't tweet that Twitter is down
  • Desperately trying to write 140 character notes on our business cards
  • Yelling I'M THINKING ABOUT GETTING A BURRITO as loudly as we can
  • Calling our friends one at a time and saying "Really fast, what are you doing right now?"
  • Weeping at how the world we lived in could be ruled by such an unjust and vengeful god
  • Settling for updating our Facebook status, though it's not the same
  • Worrying about how @THE_REAL_SHAQ was doing
  • Going to the bathroom without telling anyone

Or, in the YellowSphere, worrying about @KJBrown13's inevitable withdrawal symptoms...
